Pro-Life Efforts
St. Malachy Parish has a small but very dedicated Respect
Life Committee made up of parishioners who keep us informed
on life issues. They organize our parish participation
in Respect Life Month (October), the March for Life in
January and encourage us to support programs such as People
Concerned for the Unborn, and Birthright. We are very
grateful to them for all that they do to support life.
If you are interested in joining this committee, please
contact Sister Jolenta at 412.771.5483 or via our
online contact form.
March For Life
This year, our parish again participated in the March for Life in
Washington D.C.

Life Chain

Our parish participates in Life Chain each year.
Life Chain is a peaceful public witness of pro-life people
standing (or bring a chair and sit) for one hour praying for
our nation and for an end of abortion. Life Chain is a
visual statement of solidarity by the community that
abortion kills children and that the Church supports the
sanctity of human life from the moment of conception. Life Chain is a national event
that takes place on Respect Life Sunday.
Prayer For The Helpless Unborn
Heavenly Father, in Your love for us, protect against wickedness
of the devil, those helpless little ones to whom You have given the
gift of life. Touch with pity the hearts of those women
pregnant in our world today who are not thinking of motherhood.
Help them to see that the child they carry is made in Your Image -
as well as theirs - made for eternal life. Dispel their fear
and selfishness and give them true womanly hearts to love their
babies and give them birth and all the needed care that a mother can
give. We ask this through Jesus Christ, Your Son, Our Lord,
Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God, forever
and ever. Amen.
