Lent 2010
Tuesday Night Liturgies
Throughout Lent, please join us for 7:00
PM Mass on Tuesdays.
Sacrament of Reconciliation
Noon to 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM to 3:45 PM on
Saturdays
Stations of the Cross
The Stations of the Cross retrace the
footsteps of Jesus on his way to crucifixion. Each
Friday during Lent, there will be the opportunity to walk
the footsteps of Jesus at 2:00 PM (with our school children)
or 7:00 PM in the church.
Church Flower Restriction
During the season of Lent, liturgical
regulations do not permit the placement of flowers in the
church due to the penitential character of the season.
Please do not order flowers for the church during this
period. All flowers scheduled for this period will be
rescheduled during the Easter season.
Lenten Fish Fry

Our Lenten Fish Fry begins on Ash Wednesday from Noon to
7:00 PM and is held each Friday during Lent. All help
is appreciated whether you're a veteran or interested for
helping for the first time. Please click
here for more!
Lenten Adult Education Series
There will be a five-week Lenten Adult Education Series
beginning on Sunday, February 21 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM in
the Rectory Meeting Room. "Virtues" is the topic of
this series. The text, The
Catechism of the Catholic Church, will be provided.
Please plan to make this a part of your Lenten observance
this year. For more information or to register, please
contact the Parish Office at 412.771.5483 or
stmalachyparish@comcast.net.
Lenten Activity Crosses
In our church’s vestibule are three
crosses with Lenten activities that we, our families may
participate. During Lent we try to turn our lives
closer to Jesus. If you are looking for some Lenten
activities, please take one or one for the whole family that
you can turn toward Jesus more closely.
Poor Boxes and Angel Fund
During these Lenten weeks of repentance,
self-denial, and almsgiving, we are reminded of the less
fortunate. Please remember that the
St. Vincent de Paul Society has
poor boxes in the vestibule of the church. Your
generous giving demonstrates the love and concern you have
for those in need. The
St.
Malachy School Angel Fund accepts donations to help pay
for families unable to pay for Catholic School tuition.
Lenten Denial Folder
The Lenten Denial Folder is a means along
with the Poor Boxes of increased almsgiving. Works of
charity such as volunteer work, visits to the sick or
homebound, good deeds for others, etc. are other means of
growth during the Lenten season. Folders may be found
on the bulletin tables in the church vestibule. This
collection helps our St. Vincent de Paul Society.
